Year 10 Netballers win again!
Last night the year 10 netball players, went across to North Leamington School for a league fixture.
Due to the poor court conditions the girls ended up playing in the sports hall, which made the speed of play change considerably.
The team captained by Abby started the match playing really fast resulting in a lot of scrappy play and turn over balls. At half time the team were winning 5-3, luckily due to some great feeds from Scarlett late in the first half. The second half started a little better as the girls calmed down and looked after the ball, some key intercepts from Scarlet and Sophie in defence meant that there were more attacking chances. Freya and Abby worked well together in the circle building on the shooter-to-shooter connection. The final score was 9-5 to Southam.
The second team captained by Freya, ended up playing against a strong year 11 NLS team. They played a much more controlled from the start seeing some nice link play between Libby, Katie and Flo. It was a good quality match but unfortunately NLS managed to convert more of their attempts, resulting in 7-2 to NLS. The girls finished off with a short 10min friendly with a combination of all the girls playing, seeing the Southam girls winning 4-2.
Well done, another great result girls, and it was a nice final fixture for me to have with you all in year 10.
