Thursday evening saw the year 10 team travel to NLS in a league fixture. Fresh from their cup victory last week, the boys turned their attention to the league and a positive result. 

The team started fantastically well and were 1-0 up inside 2 minutes after a neat threaded pass from Jasper found Oliver who put the ball to Harry who saw his shot blocked only for Josh to tuck away the rebound. 
Despite Noah going off injured the defence worked tirelessly to keep NLS at bay with Fred and Oliver combining to put in last ditch tackles and Jay sweeping up any loose balls. NLS did equalise after a well taken goal. Half time 1-1. 

The second half started brightly and Southam sprang out of the traps once again with Harry playing a defence splitting pass through to Josh who finished cooly under pressure into the bottom left corner. 
From here, NLS started attacking more frequently and would have equalised again had it not been for a fantastic double save by Jasper. NLS did get the chance to equalise when they were awarded a penalty. However, this was missed and gave Southam more hope of a positive result. From this, fantastic play from Archie down the right-hand side with some great feet allowed him space to pick a cross for Harry to finish with a volley from 6 yards. 

Almost instantly, the team scored again, this time it was the turn of Spike to beat his man on the right and put a cross to Harry who controlled and finished with an acrobatic volley into the roof of the net from 20 yards. 
The game had no more goals, but the team worked hard to keep possession through the determination of Jack, Jasper and Dom who made key decisions in playing the right passes. 
Overall, a score line that flatters us a team but a result we deserved through the hard work and teamwork that we showed. 

Well done gents, Man of the match goes to Jasper J who was terrific in goal and made some key saves to keep us in the game.
