Netball battle with Princethorpe

On Wednesday afternoon we hosted 2 matches against Princethorpe. We played a combination of year 11-13 players to tackle the two teams from Princethorpe.

The first match saw a nail biter between the two teams, after the first quarter Princethorpe were up by 1 goal 3-2. Some great play down court from Millie, Abby and Liberti  saw Southam come back into the contest and bring it back to 5-5.

The second half it remained equally close but some outstanding defending from Megan and Chloe H saw Southam stop Princethorpe being able to sneak ahead. The score remained even until the final quarter where Holly H and Abby T managed to slot their final shot meaning victory went to Southam, 13-12.

The second match saw an equally contested match, however the accuracy of the Princethorpe GS allowed them to take the victory in the end. A good first quarter saw Chloe S and Sophie take some vital intercepts but after the first period of time Southam we’re down 7-3. The same 7 continued to play and there were some elements of great link play by Chloe S, Scarlett and Rosie but unfortunutly they managed to sneak further ahead at half time, 13-5.

The second half saw both of the Holly’s come onto court. Holly Y was confident it putting the ball in the circle to Holly F in the first few minutes looking really positive. However, Princethorpe had got their eye in and there wasn’t too much Scarlet could do about it.  The final quarter the girls went all out to try and bring back the score, but it finished 24-10 to Princethorpe.

Two great games this afternoon and we look forward to heading over to Princethorpe for the reverse fixture.

Well done girls.
